1. Service Description

EchoRead is an AI-powered platform that helps users learn foreign languages by reading books with real-time, phrase-by-phrase translations. Users can upload book content and receive interactive translations with hover tooltips or inline display modes. Additionally, EchoRead offers AI-powered story generation and lesson creation features to provide personalized learning content tailored to users' language learning needs.

EchoRead operates on a freemium model. New users receive a limited number of free translation credits to try the service. Additional usage requires a subscription to one of our paid plans.

We offer multiple subscription plans with flexible billing options including monthly, weekly, and yearly subscriptions. Plans include Mini, Super, and Unlimited tiers, each providing different levels of translation credits and features to suit various usage needs.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use EchoRead. By creating an account and using our service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.

3. User Responsibilities

Copyright and Content

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to upload and translate any book content
You must comply with all applicable copyright laws and regulations
EchoRead takes no responsibility for the books or content that users upload to the platform
You agree not to upload copyrighted material without proper authorization

Account Usage

Provide accurate and truthful information when creating your account
Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
Use the service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Not attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or misuse the platform

4. Content Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: EchoRead does not take responsibility for any books, text content, or materials uploaded by users. Users are solely responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to use, translate, and share any content they upload to the platform.

All translations are generated using AI technology and may contain errors or inaccuracies. EchoRead makes no warranties about the quality, accuracy, or completeness of translations provided.

5. Service Availability

EchoRead is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time.

6. Pricing and Subscription Plans

Free Tier

New users receive a limited number of free translation credits to try EchoRead. Once these credits are exhausted, a subscription is required to continue using the service.

Subscription Plans

We offer flexible billing options with monthly, weekly, and yearly subscription plans:

Monthly Plans:

Mini Plan: $4.99/month - 1M translation credits (≈50 stories)
Super Plan: $9.99/month - 3M translation credits (≈150 stories)
Unlimited Plan: $14.99/month - Unlimited translation credits (up to 20M tokens per month)

Weekly Plans:

Mini Plan: $1.99/week - 250K translation credits (≈12 stories)
Super Plan: $2.99/week - 750K translation credits (≈38 stories)
Unlimited Plan: $4.99/week - Unlimited translation credits (up to 5M tokens per week)

Yearly Plans:

Mini Plan: $3.75/month (billed annually) - 1M translation credits (≈50 stories)
Super Plan: $7.50/month (billed annually) - 3M translation credits (≈150 stories)
Unlimited Plan: $11.25/month (billed annually) - Unlimited translation credits (up to 20M tokens per month)

All subscription plans include unlimited books, all supported languages, phrase-by-phrase translations, AI-powered story generation, AI lesson creation, smart vocabulary features, audio translations, the ability to save favorite phrases, and priority support.

Unlimited Plan Disclaimer

Important: The "Unlimited" plan includes unlimited translation credits up to a fair usage limit of 20 million tokens per month (5 million tokens per week for weekly plans). This limit is designed to prevent abuse while providing generous usage for typical learning needs. Users who consistently exceed these limits may be contacted to discuss usage patterns or plan adjustments.

Service Changes

We reserve the right to modify our pricing, plans, or service features. Continued use of the service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

7. Subscription Terms

Billing and Payment

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance
Payment is processed through our secure payment provider (Stripe)
You authorize us to charge your chosen payment method on each billing cycle
All prices are in USD unless otherwise specified

Credit Usage

Translation credits are consumed when you use our AI translation services. Credits do not roll over between billing periods and will reset at the beginning of each new billing cycle.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
You will continue to have access to subscription features until the end of the paid period
No refunds are provided for partial billing periods

8. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. We collect and process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using EchoRead, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy and these Terms of Use.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EchoRead and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses.

In no event shall our total liability to you exceed the amount paid by you for the service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, illegal activity, or at our sole discretion. You may also request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us via email.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the service is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of EchoRead after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
